Madge Gaynor is a consultant for Phillips Associates and has spent the past decade helping organizations improve their performance. Madge’s expertise in training, leadership development and systems redesign has led her to employ a variety of tools and techniques to help organizations meet their changing needs as well as to hit their performance goals and targets.

While, Madge has applied her expertise in training and development to a wide range of organizational change efforts, her primary emphasis is on improving communication and management skills (e.g., presentation skills, leadership development, meeting facilitation, interviewing, and personal impact). Madge’s pragmatic approach to skill development ensures that participants leave her programs with specific and implementable strategies to increase their ability to impact others through communication.

As a human resource professional, Madge has also led several large-scale human resource programs. These programs have included:

Creating an outplacement center for a large aerospace company to provide interviewing, research, and job-seeking skills for displaced employees.
Restructuring organizations to reduce cycle-time and improve customer service.
Implementing a prestigious leadership award program for a multi-national company. This program was designed to allow peers to recognize one another for their leadership abilities and share leadership knowledge and techniques throughout the organization.
Creating a professional development program for the largest private employer in Southern California. The program was designed to provide workers the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge to improve performance and develop career growth opportunities.

Madge has worked with a range of clients in the public and private sectors, including executives, educators, and not for profit volunteers. She has been challenged to create new project teams, control the development of computer software programs, produce videos, and author numerous documents ranging from marketing to training materials. This range of experience across the human resource spectrum contributes to Madge’s holistic approach to the development of people and systems in the organizations for which she works.

Because she has functioned as both an internal executive and an external consultant, Madge has an inherent ability to understand restrictions of an internal organization while providing the perspective of an outsider.

Madge has a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a focus on organizational and intercultural communication from San Diego State University. She also served as the Director of Professional Development at the University of Southern California.
